Giclee prints are the most beautiful and accurate art reproductions that have ever been made; and now, using recently developed archival inks and papers and canvases, they are also among the most archival.
Any noticeable shift in color integrity occurs. They are truly museum-quality Fine-Art reproductions. forms of reproduction is the truly stunning accuracy of the prints. In traditional reproduction technologies, Even under high magnification the dot pattern is virtually invisible and the image appears to be continuous-tone – like the original artwork itself Giclee prints achieve near-perfect fidelity to the original artwork – from across the room even its hard to distinguishing the print from the original!
Giclee reproductions done on a special large format printer. Giclees are produced from digital scans of existing work. Giclees are superior to traditional lithography in several ways. The colors are brighter more accurate, last longer, high-resolution so that they are virtually continuous tone, rather than tiny dots .
The range, or “gamut” of color for giclees is far beyond that of lithography, and details are crisper. They are priced midway between original art and regular limited edition lithographs.
Limited edition litho prints are usually produced in editions of 500-1000 or more, all at once; but giclees rarely exceed 50-100 reproductions, one at a time thus become a more valuable art item.
They are coveted by collectors for their fidelity and quality, and desired by galleries.
The company I use to do my Giclee printing is Located North America. I prefer to work with a local company as opposed to ordering cheaper products from China. Even though my costs are higher, one can see that the quality is far superior as they only use top quality archival materials all made in America. Better customer service helps to give a more accurate reproduction with fantastic color matching abilities .
